I'm a visual designer currently living in Seoul, South Korea, with about a decade of experience in marketing and branding. I apply my joy for learning—especially related to culture—to my work in helping businesses present themselves visually and strategically.
After graduating with a B.A. in English from Barnard College, I spent the majority of my career in New York City obsessed with visual storytelling, working in film & TV production, then onto film distribution at Kino Lorber managing consumer sales (DVDs aren't dead!). Next, I pivoted and studied graphic design at Shillington School. In 2014, I landed my first design job as the sole in-house designer in creative marketing at a small startup called A24. During those three years, the company grew quickly by taking risks and bending the rules. I learned the significance of brand perception and positioning.
In 2018, I returned home to Hawaii to help my parents with their 40-year-old automotive repair business. While learning to paint cars was awesome, running and growing a small, essential business during the pandemic was the toughest experience of my life. I take these lessons in entrepreneurship with me as I return to design full time this year.
With my diverse experiences in design, sales, and business management, I consider myself a creative generalist—ready to collaborate with people to design solutions that result in clarity and growth.
I've been DJing for almost a decade, with roots in hip-hop, R&B, soul, funk, and house. I'm versatile in both digital and physical formats (Serato, Rekordbox, vinyl) and consider myself an open format DJ...all genres are fair game. Some of my curations below:
Another hobby that I love that involves spinning: ceramics. I started learning in 2019 in Honolulu and look forward to continuing my education in South Korea.
